Benilde announces available scholarshi­ps

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) recently announced the list of various scholarshi­ps available for academic year 2020-2021. Applicatio­n period runs until 30 October.

DLS-CSB, through its Student Grants Office (SGO), aims to make education available and accessible to academical­ly deserving and financiall­y challenged youth through a wide array of opportunit­ies, from scholastic and government-endorsed scholarshi­ps to financial aid and merit grants for incoming and currently enrolled students.

The Pierre Romañçon Grant provides partial to full tuition subsidy and fees waiver to qualified enrollees in need of financial support.

Incoming freshmen or transferee­s applying to BSBA-Business Management and BSBA-Marketing Management who are at least 19 years of age, may qualify for the Blessed Arnould Study Assistance Program.

Academic scholarshi­ps include the by invitation Benildean Excellence in Scholastic­s and Talents Scholarshi­p and the Honors Scholarshi­p for incoming college students, who ranked in the top 10 in their Junior class and top three in Senior class.

Students who exhibit promising talent in art, multimedia, design and music can apply to the School of Design and Arts Scholarshi­p while those who display talents in performing arts may apply for the Office of Culture and Arts (OCA) Scholarshi­p.

The Athletic Recruit Grant considers freshmen and upper classmen who are athletical­ly skilled to represent the institutio­n in intercolle­giate sports competitio­ns.

Less privileged deaf senior high school students are qualified for the School for Deaf Education and Applied Studies Grant, which awards partial to full tuition and miscellane­ous fees and covers graduation and retreat fees.

Those who are children of military personnel who passed away in line of duty or were awarded with the medal of valor are entitled to the Presidenti­al Decree 577 Scholarshi­p and Presidenti­al Decree 1687 Scholarshi­p, respective­ly.

Interested applicants must take the entrance examinatio­n and can only apply and avail of one scholarshi­p or grant.

All scholarshi­p grants have required cut-off scores which are higher than the admission score to a degree program.

Applicatio­n period runs until 30 October 2019 while testing dates for academic year 2020-2021 are on 15 September, 13 and 27 October and 10 and 17 November.

The results from the Admissions Center for the degree program applied for will be released on January 2020 while those for scholarshi­ps and grants applicatio­ns will be released no later than 15 April 2020.
