John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Triple H and Dwayne Johnson. They all sound familiar, right?

They are just some of the superstars that the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Inc. has spawned through the years.

WWE is an entertainment company widely known for professional wrestling. In fact, WWE has stretched its offerings into other fields such as movies, real estate and other ventures.

These formidable wrestlers have been on our screens for a long time now.

John Cena, considered as the face of the company, has been featured in many projects onscreen. He has been a rapper, an actor and a TV host.

During the 80s, Hulk Hogan dominated the game. But aside from being the cardinal of his era, he also did crossovers through several movie and television roles.

The same goes for Triple H who starred in five television roles and eight films.

Dwayne Johnson also tested the waters in acting and continues to do so with a string of recent hits.

You see, film set is not an unfamiliar territory for wrestlers. It’s a common place wrestlers go to when tussling no longer interests them or when they have finally run out of gas and need something that can fuel up their lives. Wrestling mogul Sheamus will concur.

During his thrilling visit in Manila last Thursday, 16 August, the 41-year-old WWE superstar did not overshadow his true feelings toward acting, something that he had tried before.

“I love to act, for sure,” said the Irish world wrestling champion during his 40-minute interaction with members of the Philippine media.

Sheamus, a four-time world champion and part of WWE’s main roster, has taken acting jobs in the past which makes it easy for him to be in front of the lens.

In 2008, the six-foot-four King of the Ring starred in his debut film, The Escapist.

His role back then, fortunately, was not that far from what he had been doing in real life. He played a boxing champion in cell.

After less than a year, projects kept flowing for the wrestling champion.

Sheamus then portrayed roles in Once Upon a Time in Dublin and Assault of Darkness.

His voice was also featured in various cartoon films like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Scooby-Doo!, WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon and The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!

This year, Sheamus was also seen on the big screen as himself, featured in Fighting with My Family, The Buddy Games and Atone.

He was also seen appearing in a number of television shows such as The Late Late Show, Conan and Made in Hollywood.

At the crisp age of 41, Sheamus, or Stephen Farrelly at birth, knows nothing about what the future holds for him. But he knows what he will and can do when he finally bids farewell to the ring.
