FIRMS ANNOUNCE HIGHER PETROLEUM PRICES

Year-to-date adjustment­s stand at a net increase of P4.50/liter for gasoline, P2.85/liter for diesel and P0.85/liter for kerosene

More industry players have announced an increase in petroleum prices by almost P1 this week.

In separate advisories on Monday, PTT Philippine­s, Phoenix Petroleum, and Cleanfuel all announced an increase in gasoline and diesel prices by 35 centavos and 60 centavos, respective­ly.

Higher prices from PTT and Phoenix will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, 20 August, while Cleanfuel will raise rates effective 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, 21 August.

Meanwhile, other companies have already announced adjustment­s in petroleum prices over the weekend.

Petro Gazz said earlier it would implement a 75-centavo increase in prices of diesel and by 50 centavos for gasoline effective 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Chevron Philippine­s Inc., which holds the Caltex brand, will impose a 50-centavo hike in gasoline and kerosene prices, and by 75 centavos for diesel effective 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday.

Pilipinas Shell, on the other hand, will raise the cost of gasoline by 35 centavos, kerosene by 45 centavos, and diesel by 60 centavos, while Seaoil will raise gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices by 35 centavos, 60 centavos, and 45 centavos, respective­ly. Both firms will implement said adjustment­s on Tuesday, 6 a.m.

As of press time, Petron Corp. has yet to announce price adjustment­s for this week.

Petron Corp., meanwhile, said it will implement a 35-centavo increase in gasoline, 60 centavos for diesel and 45 centavos for kerosene.

Last week, industry players slashed the cost of diesel by P1.10 per liter, as well as gasoline by 50 centavos per liter, and kerosene by P1.30 per liter.
