Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA ROIII) arrested a Korean national, his live-in partner and three others following an anti-illegal drugs operation in Angeles City, Pampanga early Tuesday.

In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino, PDEA 3 Director Gil Pabilona identified the suspects as Suh Jun Hong, 44, male, a native of Daeju City, South Korea; Maria Ramos, 31, female; Reynon Rodriguez, 36, male; Michael Balberan, 40, male, a Department of Social Welfare and Development employee; and Patrick Nepomuceno, 28, male.

Pabilona said aside from the arrest of Hong and Ramos, the drug sting also resulted in the discovery and dismantling of a drug den and arrest of the three drug personalities in Camelia St., Timog Park.

He said the anti-drug operation transpired at 2:15 a.m. where PDEA agents secured a drug deal from

Hong and Ramos for the purchase of P1,000 worth of kush (hybrid type of marijuana)

The high impact operation yielded five self-sealing transparent plastic sachets containing colored tablets suspected to be an ecstasy, two heat-sealed transparent plastic containing suspected kush, various drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.

“Hong has been in the country for eight years and based on our investigation, he owns a five-story commercial building being rented in Korea and all proceeds are being sent here in the Philippines,” Pabilona said.

Pabilona said the suspects are now detained at PDEA Jail Facility, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

He said a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being readied for filing in court.

The drug sting also resulted in the discovery and dismantling of a drug den and arrest of the three drug personalities.
