James’ Australian father, Robert Malcolm Reid, will now manage his showbiz career
Actor and Nadine Lustre’s boyfriend, James Reid, has left Viva Films and Viva Artists Agency (VAA) as an exclusive contract star after seven years.
James was the grand winner of
Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of ABS-CBN in 2010 but it was Viva Films and VAA that gave him his first lead role in the box-office hit Ang Diary ng Panget in 2014, pairing him with Nadine.
He became famous and his tandem with Nadine became successful not only for film but in concerts, television, endorsements and music as well. Reportedly, James will concentrate on his singing career.

A senior actor was disappointed with a junior actor when the latter did not show up on their scheduled shooting day recently.
The production staff hired a service van to fetch the senior actor who lives in a nearby province. A standby medical team was on the set because the scenes to be shot were mostly action scenes. Needed medications were provided and the talent fee for the day paid.
Unfortunately, the junior actor canceled the shoot. So the staff had to pay for everything up to the catering. The senior got peeved and vowed not to work with the junior actor again because of his unprofessionalism.
Multimedia Queen Kris Aquino says goodbye to her comeback horror film, (K)Ampon, originally slated for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2019.
In her recent posts on Instagram, Kris revealed that the letter of request for the change of leading man was filed out of time.
“The final recommendation is to DENY the request of Quantum Films. The denial is premised on the ground that it was “filed out-of-time. If they insist on Gabby, this film will be disqualified for the MMFF,” Kris posted on her IG.
In another post, Kris did not heed the suggestions of her friend to appeal the decision. “Rules are rules” and instead she accepted the fact that (K)Ampon is not meant for the annual movie fest.
Derek Ramsay, the original choice for Kris’ leading man before Gabby Concepcion replaced him, commented on Kris’ post, “things happen for a reason and I’m positive you and I will work on something amazing soon. You’re so right that rules are rules.”
Kris is scheduled to fly to Boracay with sons, Joshua and Bimby, this 20 August, her supposed first shooting for her comeback film.
