Alex, Aces part ways

After 15 conference­s, Alex Compton has stepped down from his post as head coach of Alaska and will be replaced by Jeffery Cariaso.

The Aces begin a new era after the management accepted the resignatio­n of Compton and immediatel­y appointed Cariaso, one of the franchise’s celebrated players, to the position.

“We are very sorry to see Alex leave the team. He had a tremendous impact on the team and was very concerned with the players well being on and off the court,” Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu said in a statement released to the media yesterday.
