Do your part by bringing your own bottle
People nowadays have acknowledged how important it is to live a more sustainable and waste-free life because of the dire conditions brought on by global warming and pollution that badly affect the environment.
With a vision of a more environmentally sustainable world, NutriAsia, home of Filipinos’ favorite condiments, encourages its consumers to be part of its Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) movement by bringing their empty condiment bottles and refilling them at its first BYOB booth which is located near the Mind Museum at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
“NutriAsia has been a trusted partner of every Filipino home in making Masarap Masaya meals. And with BYOB, we hope to go beyond and create more Masarap Masaya moments by encouraging shoppers to help build a zero-waste community in their own ways,” said NutriAsia’s corporate marketing and communications head James Lim.
How to participate
The steps to joining this movement are simple. Consumers have to register, refill their chosen products, weigh their bottles and pay for the fee at a discounted price.
Consumers can choose from the following condiments: Datu Puti Vinegar, Datu Puti Soy Sauce, UFC Banana Catsup and Golden Fiesta Cooking Oil.
Used condiment bottles, mineral water bottles or juice/ soft drink bottles can be refilled. It should be thoroughly cleaned and should still have lids/bottle caps before the people manning the booth can refill it.
The bottles should not be damaged, wet, dirty and have a scent that might be from chemicals or non-food items. Should there be any mishaps, the BYOB management can gladly replace their item.
Everything eco-friendly
The BYOB booth is made out of eco-bricks which came from Arca South Eco Hub. It is a mixture of materials like cement and shredded plastic waste.
As the stall is a big part of BYOB, the food company wants every aspect of this movement to be in line with its environmentally-friendly and sustainability vision.
Consumers can also drop off their plastic discards like PET and other clear plastic cups/bottles, shampoo and other opaque plastic containers, plastic delivery packs and other flexible plastics, yogurt containers, margarine tubs, plastic spoons and forks and sachets, snack packs and other clean dry plastics.
All proceeds will be used to produce furnishings for GAT Andres Bonifacio High School.
“We are happy to share that all proceeds from BYOB, along with the plastic materials donated, will be used to produce upcycled furnishings for our beneficiary, GAT Andres Bonifacio High School,” Lim shared.
The BYOB booth opened its doors last 30 July and will run until 12 September but NutriAsia plans on extending this movement to different areas. It will be open from Mondays through Sundays from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at The Mind Museum in BGC.
