Palace lauds inter-agency meeting
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman and chief de mission William Ramirez initiated an inter-agency meeting that was supported by the Office of the President as the country prepares for the hosting of the 30th Southeast (SEA) Asian Games.
No less that Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea facilitated the meeting last Tuesday at the Philippine International Convention Center also attended by representatives from the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) and different government agencies.
"We've had an inter-agency meeting before but this is the first time that we are doing this at this level," Ramirez said. Medialdea represented the Office of the President and encouraged everyone to exceed the expectations of President Duterte for the country's SEA Games hosting this year.
"The hosting is only less than three months away, we cannot afford to send President Duterte with anything less than perfect. The President puts his hope with us all. Expectations that may only be achieved if we work our hardest with utmost commitment and solid cooperation." Medialdea said.
Also present during the inter-agency meeting was Speaker of the House and Phisgoc chairman Alan Peter Cayetano.
"I thank everyone here in advance for lending their help for our 30th Southeast Asian Games hosting. It is no longer about PSC, POC or Phisgoc. This is already about Team Philippines," Cayetano said.
