Cool Smashers seek sweep

-

Unless Alyssa Valdez decides to join the national training camp earlier than scheduled or Jia Morado remains indisposed, Creamline could be heading to a sweep of the first round elims of the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.

Up against a struggling BaliPure side, the defending champions set out as the heavy favorites in their 6 p.m. encounter where the latter try to complete an eight-game romp in the first phase of the nine-team elims of the season-ending conference of the league organized by Sports Vision.

The 16-member national training pool, which includes Valdez and Morado, is set to leave for Thailand tomorrow for a 12-day camp before plunging into action in the Southeast Asian Grand Prix set 20 to 22 September which will serves as part of the squad’s buildup for the Southeast Asian Games the country is hosting 30 November to 11 December.

But Valdez and Morado have committed to anchor the Cool Smashers’ bid against the Water Defenders, who could only churn out two wins against four defeats, including a sorry five-set setback to the surging BanKo-Perlas Spikers last Wednesday.
