151 nabbed in Mandaluyong big-time drive
The Eastern Police District (EPD) yesterday arrested a total of 151 individuals during its simultaneous anti-crime and law operation drives in Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
EPD director Brig. General Johnson Almazan said he deployed at least 1,500 uniformed EPD personnel in this operation to integrate the essential operational concepts relative to the campaign against criminality and to prevent or reduce the occurrence of crime incidents, particularly crimes against persons and property, and other heinous crimes that occur on the streets.
As such, the operations consisted of the following police interventions: checkpoint, oplan “bakal/sita,” oplan “galugad,” oplan “bulabog,” sustained service of search warrants and warrants of arrest and enforcement of city ordinances.
Neutralizing personalities involved in crime-related activities and other offenses were successfully done in close coordination by EPD with its four city police stations (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina and San Juan), District Mobile Force Battalion and other law enforcement agencies.
Aside from commending the EPD personnel on a job well done, National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. General Guillermo Eleazar reiterated again his statement, saying “Always remember not to make simple things complicated. Address the matter while it is still small. Work on eradicating it so that it doesn’t get any worse and influences others.”
