Giving high regards to the market in the Queen City of the South, commercial vehicle giant Isuzu Philippine Corporation (IPC) made it the venue for the Isuzu D-Max LS-A launch.

During its “Tough Enough” lifestyle campaign, the Isuzu D-Max LS-A conquered around 500 meters of downhills and turns, elephant articulation and table tops prepared by Project O. The trail drive was made to showcase durability, fuel efficiency and overall value for money of the D-Max LS-A 4x4 variant.

The D-Max LS-A has the reliable 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-liter four-cylinder In-line Blue Power Diesel engine with VGS turbo intercooler able to provide 174.5 horsepower and 380 N-m torque.

After the trail drive, a formal launch for the region led by IPC president Hajime Koso was made. Koso said that they are eyeing for the D-Max LS-A to diverge from the utilitarian stigma to its supposed weekend adventurer.

“The D-Max LS-A represents nearly a century of Isuzu’s experience and innovation in the design, engineering and workmanship of diesel-powered utility vehicles. The D-Max LS-A is infused, as well, with features that address the demands of a market that value both hard work and play, business with leisure,” Koso said.

Fitted with very dark gray front grille and bumper, coupled with side step board and rocker panel, cargo extender and roof rails, the D-Max LS-A exudes its athletic look and stance.

Steve Gingco, Isuzu Cebu general manager, was elated over the support given by the local arm for the Japanese carmaker.

“We are thankful to Isuzu Philippines for once again choosing Cebu as the launching ground in introducing this new model to the Visayas and Mindanao market,” Gingco said.

According to him, Cebu holds 10 percent of the Isuzu D-Max market and that Central Visayas is the third biggest market for the pickup segment. Initially available in 4x4 variant, IPC will also offer its 4x2 variants in the coming months.

The D-Max LS-A represents nearly a century of Isuzu’s experience and innovation in the design, engineering and workmanship of diesel-powered utility vehicles.
