4 women rescued from sex den

- Neil Alcober

Mayor Francis Zamora and San Juan police rescued four women inside a spa allegedly used as a prostitution den in San Juan City yesterday afternoon.

The mayor said the spa, located along Santolan Road corner Ortigas Avenue in Barangay Greenhills, was just three minutes away from the police station and city hall.

“I think at around 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. I received a call from our chief of police, Col. Jaime Santos, saying that this massage spa is offering extra service,” Zamora told reporters in an interview. “Col. Santos has sent an asset this morning, and it was confirmed that there was sexual intercourse that happens here.”

He said charges for violation of Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Prostitution will be filed against the spa owner.

“We’re in the process of identifying the owner of this spa. Actually, our police had already conducted a background check. This was under surveillance in the past few days,” he explained.

However the mayor clarified that the operation was carried out just to rescue women working in this spa, whom he said were just victims of a prostitution.
