Amazing fools

“When everybody was having a good time, the detractors were thinking of ways to spin the occasion in their favor.

“It was a rocking moment for Filipinos, but not the sore losers who always found a way to lay a tripwire on Rody.

The bashers of President Rody Duterte are at it after a rousing kickoff of the Southeast Asian Games, saying it evoked memories of the Berlin Olympics in 1936 which Adolf Hitler, the German dictator, officiated.

The usual critics were unconsolable despite nearly the entire nation celebrating as a result of the spectacle that lived up to its buildup of being a proud moment for Filipinos.

Rody joined in the fun by dancing to the tune of “Manila” by Hotdog, while the huge Philippine contingent was entering the stadium at the Philippine Arena.

It was a rocking moment for Filipinos, but not the sore losers who always found a way to lay a tripwire on Rody.

It was the episode of Vice President Leni Robredo trying to take advantage of Rody’s good faith in naming her as anti-drugs czarina all over again.

Robredo, instead of helping the nation in the battle against the narcotics curse, opted to work her way into state secrets in an effort to prove her claims of abuse in the conduct of the campaign and that the war on drugs was an “obvious failure.”

She was named the anti-drugs czarina but she chose to use her position to grandstand, according to Rody.

“It was all in good faith. I said just join the government if you think the government fails to deliver its promises. Join us, I’m giving you the position so that you will know,” he said.

Rody was hoping that the Vice President would realize the depth of the problem and join in the crafting of solutions.

She indicated her preference for a public health approach in her stint, but she failed to substantiate her proposal after more than two weeks from accepting Rody’s offer.

“You were there grandstanding but I let you do that. Still you kept on taunting me,” Rody added.

So, the inevitable happened and Robredo was dismissed as what she and her minions dared Rody to do.

There was no other recourse but to fire Robredo for her “stupidity” in criticizing the government despite being appointed as anti-drug czar, according to Rody.

In the same way, the poor misfits who support Robredo were trying to turn the tables on Rody during the festive mood of the opening of the regional competitions.

When everybody was having a good time, the detractors were thinking of ways to spin the occasion in their favor.

When Robredo was given the chance to make a difference in the anti-drug effort, which is practically won with an 82 percent support from the public, she branded it as a failure.

Rody’s opponents even half wished that the incoming storm “Tisoy” would spoil the event attributing the force majeure as a divine signal against Rody.

The yellow critics would always be remembered as obnoxious hypocrites who believe that they have been given the heavenly mission to impose on Filipinos what they deem as the right path to take.

Lost to them is that they have long been regarded as without credibility by Filipinos that resulted to their being blanked in the recent senatorial polls.
