Bulacan LGU sends relief to Taal
MALOLOS, Bulacan — Troops of Bulacan Provincial Police Office Philippine National Police (PNP) led by PCol. Emma Libunao together with Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bulacan Rescue and Bureau of Fire Protection conducted a relief operation for the victims of Taal Volcano eruption early Wednesday.
Composed of 58 Search and Rescue personnel of Bulacan PNP, six Police Commissioned Officers and 52 Police Non Commissioned Officers, the troops gave their time and effort in the relief operation and distribution in distressed areas particularly in the cities of Santo Tomas and Tanauan and the town of Malvar in Batangas province.
A total of one million pesos and 5,000 food packs of relief goods and medical donations were turned over by Governor Fernando to Hon. Hermilando “Dodo” Mandanas, Governor of Batangas.
Aside from the cash and relief goods distributed, the Provincial Government of Bulacan earlier dispatched rescue and medical teams to the victims of the eruption of Taal Volcano in Batangas.
“The ‘Bayanihan Spirit’ of our fellow Bulakenyos is being witnessed once again as part of the Filipino culture and tradition. The PNP’s mandate of “To Serve and Protect” is not only confined on crime prevention, but also it is focused on reaching out to the community, not just for the purpose of information dissemination but to provide real public service from the heart of every law enforcer” PD Linunao said.
