Sting hauls P2.5-B meth
Muad Romorus Abedin Mangotara was arrested by elements from the police’s anti-illegal drugs unit and Cavite Provincial Police Office
Joint Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) and local police operatives collared a high-value drug suspect and confiscated around P2.5 billion worth of illegal drugs in General Trias, Cavite, PNP Chief, Gen. Archie Gamboa disclosed Friday.
Gamboa, citing the report submitted to him by the PDEG, identified the suspect as Muad Romorus Abedin
Mangotara, who was arrested by elements from the police’s anti-illegal drugs unit and Cavite Provincial Police Office (PPO) on Thursday evening at Somerset 9 Subdivision in Brgy. Navarro of the said town.
Shabu in 63 boxes
The drug sting resulted in the confiscation of 63 boxes containing 374 packs of suspected crystal meth, or shabu, with an estimated street value of P2.5 billion and a bundle of money amounting to P1 million, according to the top cop.
This is the third high-yielding antinarcotics operation conducted by the police in over a week following the drug bust in Marilao, Bulacan last 5 June.
Foreigner nabbed
Last week’s drug operation resulted to the arrest of a Chinese national and his two Filipino cohorts and the seizure of 63 boxes of biscuits concealing 756 kilos of crystal meth, or shabu, with a street value of P5.140 billion and P1 million in cash.
It was followed by the confiscation of another P244.8 million of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Paranaque City that left two drug personalities dead.

The operations were done in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
