Idols and bashers
If the financial damage is serious, the idol should find a way to sue the most relentless basher. Or at least threaten to sue to make the bashers scamper away
Will Kim Chiu, Pinky Amador and all other heavily bashed showbiz idols have less projects when the pandemic has worn off? Has any star stopped getting cast for being the apple of the eyes of do-nothing bashers?
How bashing financially affects the glamorous and the glittery is worth studying so those citizens of this showbiz-obsessed nation can decide if they should sue at least one persistent basher to give him/her a lesson --- or both the bashed and the basher can just go on their merry way. If the financial damage is serious, the idol should find a way to sue the most relentless basher. Or at least threaten to sue to make the bashers scamper away.
Kim has been getting it for her confused “sa classroom, may batas, bawal lumabas” comment and for recording a rap inspired by the confusing remark. When she sang the song at the Wish bus, her performance merited 1.5 million views and more than 500K dislikes.
Star Music, the Kapamilya network’s recording company, hasn’t reported how much money the song has made through Spotify and
other music-sharing websites. Ifit has earned remarkably well, Star Music would have mightily announced it.
But the beleaguered network has so much catching up to do due to its expired broadcast franchise, it may just be too busy to toot its own horn about Kim’s rap. But, then, again, even if the single doesn’t make so much money, it might not hurt the company a lot since the project doesn’t sound like an expensive one.
If the single isn’t a roaring hit, its being so hasn’t prevented the network from bringing back Kim as one of the lead stars of the series Love Thy
Wife which is among the shows the network is set to revive in a cable channel it is tapping while its franchise is still in a freezer at Congress.
Ergo, Kim has not suffered any financial loss due to incessant bashing. She has no reason to consider going to court for losing money due to bashing.
Pinky got the attention of hecklers due to her fury of curses heaped upon a hapless employee in a Makati condotel where she lives. The multi-media actress was furious about the hotel not posting updates in the elevators about the persons under monitoring for possible COVID-19 who were sent by the Department of Health to stay tentatively in the building. Some wag secretly took a video of her going ballistic and then sent it out to social media outlets. Pinky was in the cast of the GMA Network series
Anak ni Biday vs Anak ni Waray when the show was canned due the quarantine to control the pandemic. The network has not announced any plan to revive the show.
There’s a Kapamilya young actress who once threatened to bring to court a persistent basher. It may just be a coincidence that her name is Sue Ramirez. Though she is not ranked with Kathryn Bernardo, Nadine Lustre and Liza Soberano, Sue has portrayed lead roles in several films, including one produced by Regal Films. The basher ceased to pester her after she announced on Twitter that she is considering the basher to court.
It is harder to understand why relentless bashers do what they do for nothing. Should they be considered the lesser evil compared to trolls who reportedly earn close to P100K each for their kind of despicable work?
Both unpaid bashers and well-paid should be ready for terribly bad karma surely
coming to them anytime now.
