SEC main office operations suspended
The SEC main office will be closed initially from 26 to 30 June 2020 to facilitate thorough disinfection of the premises
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday released new guidelines for the filing of reports and other documents at its main office in Pasay City which remains temporarily closed.
In an advisory posted at its website, the corporate regulator said its main office at the Philippine International Convention Center Complex (PICC) in Pasay will temporarily stop receiving printed reports, including annual financial statements (AFS), general information sheet (GIS) and other documents while work remains suspended at the headquarters.
It also suspended the SEC Express Nationwide Submission facility which enables the submission of AFS, GIS and other reports via courier or registered mail.
Work at its PICC offices were suspended after four personnel tested positive for COVID-19 in rapid antibody tests.
“The SEC main office will be closed initially from 26 to 30 June 2020 to facilitate thorough disinfection of the premises. Depending on the results of the confirmatory tests performed on the four probable cases of COVID-19, the commission may extend the suspension of work at the SEC main office,” the notice read.
The commission said it will announce new deadlines for the filing of reports and other documents within the week. Meanwhile, it said corporations may continue filing scanned copies of duly signed and notarized, if applicable, reports, letters and other documents to concerned departments or agencies through email.
