Delayed blessing for Alessandra
Hitting the Netflix charts with their film Through Night and Day,
the blessing comes delayed for Alessandra de Rossi and Paolo Contis who crafted the movie two years ago.
The drama film produced by Viva Films follows the story of a couple who familiarized themselves with each other but suddenly encountered difficulties during their first out of the country trip at Iceland resulting them to drift apart.
Capturing homebound fans with unique storyline, Alessandra and Paolo impressed everyone with their stellar performance.
Logistical difficulties
Despite the current recognition given to their film, Alessandra openly admitted the hardship they faced when promoting the film. Answering a Twitter user’s question of why she hasn’t heard of the film years ago, Alessandra mentioned, “Ako lang
kasi mag-isa nag-promote (It was only
me who promoted it).”
A cryptic tweet was released by Alessandra saying, “Walang hanggang pasasalamat sa lahat ng nagre-recommend at nagpro-promote. Kasi magisa lang akong nag-promote niyan noon (Endless gratitude to those who recommend and promote it because I was the only one promoted that before).”
Alessandra also thanked those people who took their time to watch the film in cinemas way back 2018. It might hurt her to know that only a handful of viewers spectated the film during its showing, but still showed love to those who appreciate it now.
Purpose over popularity
Alessandra also retweeted a user’s tweet saying, “purpose over popularity” in the midst of the film’s fame. This is surmised as her expression of her love toward her craft over any kind of recognition.
She also took to twitter how much she appreciated the writer and the people behind the scenes who h e l p e d her portrayed her role better.
On her Instagram stories, she shared snippets of the complex markings that she had to comply with to execute the climactic part of the film.
Alessandra also shared that some of her iconic lines from the movie were written in her own journal. She even teased her fans that there were parts of the film that wasn’t able to make it to the final cut but kept on her personal phone.
She also approaches every fan’s reaction to the film by actively liking and retweeting it with gratitude.
Delayed recognition may not be new to the industry anymore, but Alessandra seems to be enjoying the delayed blessing brought by the streaming site to appreciate their film more. After her film Kita Kita with Empoy, Through Night and Day has proven that Alessandra’s acting remains as one of the most underrated ones in the industry nowadays.
Hopefully, her right time will come when she will be recognized just in
time and not years after showing.
