Pasig River Ferry resumes services
Lim expressed confidence the MMDA’s effort will be helpful to health care workers and government employees in going to their respective workplaces
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) yesterday resumed limited operations of the Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) to provide health care workers and government employees with a means of transportation.
Danilo Lim, MMDA chairman, said the limited service complies with the imposition by President Duterte of a two-week-long modified enhanced community quarantine in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces.
Six stations are open to provide transport. These are Pinagbuhatan, San Joaquin, Guadalupe, Valenzuela, Lawton and Escolta.
Ferry boats travel from Pinagbuhatan to Guadalupe, Guadalupe to Escolta and vice versa, and Guadalupe to San Joaquin and vice versa.
Physical distancing shall be observed at all times, with all boats conveying only half of its passenger carrying capacity.
All those intending to ride the ferry only need to present a valid identification card.
Stations are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. All rides are free.
Lim expressed confidence the MMDA’s effort will be helpful to health care workers and government employees in going to their respective workplaces.
In line with the precautionary measures mandated by the Inter-Agency Task Force, the PRFS is implementing a “no mask, no entry” policy.
Physical distancing shall be observed at all times, with all boats conveying only half of its passenger carrying capacity.
Passengers showing signs of cough and colds or with a body temperature higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius will also not be allowed to enter the PRFS premises.
Likewise, only persons aged 21 to 59 years old will be allowed to board the boats.
