Sta. Lucia mulls bubble workout
We are suggesting to the management that we should adopt a bubble concept
Sta. Lucia is ready to train in a bubble setup once the Philippine Superliga (PSL) resumes its training and conditioning sessions.
Lady Realtors head coach Eddieson Orcullo said they are mulling the possibility of having players enter the bubble to make sure that their training and conditioning sessions would be safe and free from the deadly novel coronavirus.
A bubble concept is the healthiest way to prepare for the upcoming PSL All-Filipino Conference. The National Basketball Association is also employing the concept in which players are kept in a secluded area where all health and safety protocols are being observed. There would also be regular testing to make sure that nobody would get infected.
Orcullo said if they would be given the green light, they would train at the Penthouse facility in Cainta, which is owned by Sta. Lucia Land, Inc.
“We are suggesting to the management that we should adopt a bubble concept,” Orcullo said in a conversation with Daily Tribune.
“I am positive that they will consider our request because this would be for the sake of our players and PSL officials.”
In a statement, PSL chairman Philip Ella Juico announced that they were already given the green light to return to training as soon as the government lifts the modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.
Orcullo said they are looking forward to returning to training, especially now that they are parading a powerhouse roster led by Mika Reyes, Amy Ahomiro, Royse Tubino, Bang Pineda and Filipino-American MJ Philips.
