The Legazpi City Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) issued stricter guidelines in the workplace aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

An employee who experiences symptoms, like the flu, is required to report to the Human Resource Management Office through text message or phone call, and ask for referral to the health officer of the company or agency for assessment, ordered Mayor Noel Rosal, also the city’s Task Force COVID-19 chair.

Employees who have been exposed to confirmed COVID-19 cases should immediately get in touch with their health officer to facilitate contact tracing, Rosal added.

A task force advisory also stated that employees should submit to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test a week after exposure and undergo a 14-day home quarantine.

A medical certificate is required before the employee can resume work.

Offices, both public and private, with daily transactions are likewise required to disinfect their premises at least two to three times a week.

Party, celebrations and other mass gathering are not allowed in government or private offices. If the gathering is necessary, it should be done with safety guidelines in place, Rosal said.

A medical certificate is required before the employee can resume work.

The mayor reminded all employees to always observe health and safety protocols, especially wearing of masks and shields and frequent hand washing and disinfecting.

As of 5 August, Albay still has 73 active cases out of confirmed 177 total infections.

Camarines Sur has the most number of total active (123) and confirmed (211) cases in the Bicol Region, with Albay coming in second.

Albay has more fatalities at eight while CamSur has three.
