PPA testing lab

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) opened a real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction molecular testing laboratory that will facilitate incoming and outgoing seafarers’ requirements for crew-change hub ports in Manila and Orion, Bataan, and soon, in Batangas.

The PPA facility has a daily testing capacity of approximately 2,000 and a 24 to 48-hour turnaround time for results.

The facility also provides a one-stop shop housing satellite offices of the Maritime Industry Authority, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Quarantine, Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Coast Guard to facilitate travel requirements.
