Sen. Go assists Davao, Lucena residents

The office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go recently distributed food packs, masks, face shields, meals and medicines to 47 fire victims in Barangay Ilang in Davao City.
Go also sent bicycles to help chosen residents in their daily commute to work and tablets for children without access to blended learning.
“I sent masks and face shields. Please use them because the coronavirus is still around us. Be mindful of social distancing and always wash your hands,” he said. “To the students, focus on your studies. Nothing makes us, parents, prouder than to see you graduate and have a good life.”
In Lucena City, 1,000 residents affected by a flashflood caused by the overflowing Iyam and Dumacaa Rivers were likewise assisted by the senator last week.
The Department of Trade and Industry then awarded business kits — 23 retail stores, 21 rice retailers and three egg retailers — through the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa program.
The Departments of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Health (DoH), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation distributed other relief packages.
The senator encouraged Lucena residents to visit the Malasakit Center located at Quezon Medical Center for medical and financial assistance.
“This is a one-stop shop that houses the DSWD, DoH, PCSO and PhilHealth for easier access to financial and medical assistance,” he said.
Go vowed the poor and vulnerable sectors will be prioritized under the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program so they may safely return to work and rebuild their lives.
“Once the vaccine becomes available, I assure you that the poor and vulnerable sectors will be prioritized. That’s the order of President Duterte,” he assured.
