DTI lauds IPOPHL mobile app
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary Ramon Lopez lauded the launch of Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Mobile Application, as this will serve as innovative milestone for the company to provide Filipinos with a digital model that will enable the “Ease Doing Business in the Philippines” easier and safer with just one click, amid the pandemic.
In his speech during its launch Monday, Lopez emphasized the relevance of IPOPHL’s mobile app.
“We see its importance of having everything digital. This app will not only promote a contact-free way, as no touch technology proliferates. Contact-free way for Filipinos to register their IP assets at home or anywhere in the country will also increase IPOPHL’s accessibility while improving their delivery of service,” Lopez said.
Embarking in such an initiative, not only an answer to the pandemic, but in the long term, to address the need to create more awareness on innovation, IPO registration, and consciousness to many entrepreneurs about information technology (IT), he added.

“I’m sure that with this facilitation, they will gain awareness in terms of IT. This has been, I would say, understated this consciousness of IT. We only appreciate its importance when it’s already mimicked and the company booms. The importance of IT must be emphasized to Micro SME. I always believed we’ve been pushing this advocacy for entrepreneurship for more than 15 years, and we see the important role of innovation having an IT as part of innovation should really be emphasized,” Lopez said.
