Kuya Bong helps flood-ravaged Quezon
After distributing relief assistance in Lucena City and Gumaca town in Quezon province, the staff of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go proceeded to the municipality of Lopez to similarly assist flash flood victims over the weekend.
Some 300 individuals gathered at Lopez National Comprehensive High School where they received meals, food packs, masks and face shields.
“I and President Rodrigo Duterte sympathize with your plight. We will do everything to help you,” he said in his video message. “What is important is we’re alive and well.”
His staf f also gave away bicycles to residents needing to go to their work places while children received tablets for use in their online classes.
“To our students, please take your classes seriously. Your parents would not want anything more than to see you graduate. In return, let us repay their love and hard work by studying well,” he said.
Representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development also distributed cash assistance and additional food packs.
The senator thanked local officials for the support they extended to the victims, including Governor Danilo Suarez, and Representatives Angelina Tan (Quezon 4th District) and Anna Villaraza-Suarez (Alona Partylist).
Go also announced that President Duterte plans to distribute additional benefits to village officials, captains, watchmen, secretaries and treasurers as well Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons and Indigenous Peoples mandatory representatives this Christmas season in recognition of their service.
