The coronavirus disease chooses no one. Even one of the biggest celebrities in the country like Alex Gonzaga was not spared by the life-threatening disease.

On her YouTube vlog, the former Kapamilya star got teary-eyed when she revealed that everyone in their home, and her fiancé Lipa City councilor Mikee Morada, were tested positive but have since recovered from COVID-19.

Alex mentioned that a person in their house dined outside, which was how they contracted the virus. The first person who was infected was her mother but she was asymptomatic followed by her father, Mikee and Sophie, a household member. She and Mikee were the ones who were hit hard and experienced the symptoms.

Her vlog also showed her in tears because she realized that COVID-19 did infiltrate their home and because of that, family plans and life milestones were put on hold. She revealed that she planned on having an intimate wedding this month as well as appearing in the new noontime show Lunch Out Loud on TV5.

“We’re still blessed kasi hindi naman ganung kalala yung nangyaring sitwasyon sa amin. Our symptoms are manageable so far, in Jesus’ name. We are a family of positivity — we don’t invite negativity here,” the actress stated.

Alex was still able to joke about their situation and also pondered on how she was able to transmit the virus to her fiancé.

“Ang pinaka-pangit ang symptoms is ako and si Mikee. Siguro may mga mabilisang liplepan pero, as in, sobrang bilis naming nagsama nung Saturday kasi even si Mikee, praning din siya,” she mused and even teased Mommy Pinty.

Her vlog also showed the progression of the virus on her but she gained her strength back quickly. A wholesome moment was when she said her dad can’t bear to be apart from her mom so they studied the Bible together. The three of them were secluded in different rooms with plastic coverings on the doors.

After their two-week quarantine period, everyone tested negative. Her takeaways and advice: “We really have to be extra extra careful. You can survive COVID. Kaya niyo, wag kayo mag- panic. And if ever man na di niyo na nakakayanan, consult your doctor, boost your immune system kahit na nasa loob lang kayo ng bahay, drink vitamins. Once na nalaman namin na isa sa kasama namin sa bahay ay nag- positive, right then and there nag- quarantine na po kami. Always gargle and rest.”

“Bottom line, it made me realize na this pandemic, we should stop thinking about ourselves but we should really start thinking about other people. It’s not about you, it’s about the people around you. Para mas maiwasan natin ang mahawa at mas maiwasan natin ang magkaron ng kaguluhan ngayong may pandemic,” she concluded.
