BLACKWATER PLAYER NA-COVID SA PBA BUBBLE
CLARK — Kinumpirma ng Philippine Basketball Association ( PBA) nitong Linggo na isang player ng Blackwater ang nagpositibo sa coronavirus disease ( COVID- 19) sa loob ng bubble rito. Inanunsiyo ni Commissioner Willie Marcial ang ikalawang kaso ng COVID- 19 base sa resulta ng RT- PCR swab testing na isinagawa noong 22 Oktubre. Noong isang linggo, isang game official ang nagpositibo rin sa COVID- 19.
Ayon pa kay Marcial, ang nasabing player ay na-isolate na sa Athletes’ Village sa Capas, Tarlac Linggo ng umaga at nakatakdang sumailalim sa rapid antigen testing at RT-PCR/ swab test.
Naka- isolate na rin ang buong Blackwater team, mga staff nito at mga nakasalamuha ng koponan kabilang ang huling nakalaban ng Elite na TNT Tropang Giga.
Kinansela rin ang laro ng Elite kontra Rain or Shine Linggo ng hapon.
“BCDA secretary Vince Dizon has already instructed the entire team of Blackwater to undergo isolation, including their close contacts,” ani Marcial.
“We are now putting up stricter measures, we don’t want to be very relaxed because we want to investigate the origin of the cases.”
Idinagdag pa ni Marcial, na dadadaan muli sa testing ang mga players ng Blackwater sa mga susunod na araw.
“The other players, we cannot test them right now with RT- PCR because it is too early. But we will test them using antigen in the coming days,” ayon kay PBA medical consultant Dr. George Canlas.
Kinumpirma naman ni Canlas na ang referee na naging unang kaso ng COVID-19 positive sa loob ng bubble ay nagnegatibo na sa huli nitong swab result. Ang nasabing referee ay mananatiling naka-quarantine sa Tarlac.
Dinepensahan naman ni Dizon ang liga at sinabing ligtas pa rin sa loob ng bubble. .
“The bubble hasn’t been breached. These have already happened in the NBA and NFL bubble, we are no dif ferent from those cases,” aniya.
“The i ndex case ( r e feree) proved to be negative. What’s more important is we have stricter protocols to address this issue,” dagdag pa ni Dizon
