NCRPO chief tells kids to stay home

- BY PAT C. SANTOS

P/Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., newly appointed National Capital Region Police Office regional director, urged the youth to stay home and avoid roaming around during the coming holiday season as the coronavirus disease is still existent.

Danao gave this message during yesterday’s turnover ceremony of the leadership of the Manila Police District at its headquarters in Ermita, Manila.

The Inter-Agency Task Force has already allowed minors aged 15 years and older to freely move outside their residence provided they are accompanied by an adult.

Danao disclosed he ordered police in Metro Manila to be on foot patrol in manning commercial centers, markets and churches, particularly during the observance of Simbang Gabi.

He said he ordered intensified foot patrol this month and in early January 2021 to ensure that physical distancing is being followed and strictly enforced.

“This will prevent the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease as the national government fears a rise in cases during this Christmas period” Danao explained.

Likewise, he warned erring cops to shape up, “or I will tell them good luck at meron silang lugar na paglalagyan (I will find a place for them).”
