Go reminds GOCC execs on procurement laws
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Tuesday advised government corporations to ensure that procurement laws and proper processes are followed in their transactions involving public funds.
He also said that procurements of these government corporations should expedite the process so as not to delay the delivery of services to the Filipino people.
According to the senator, these government-owned and controlled corporations or agencies should likewise make a report regarding the status of their corresponding procurements.
Go expressed that the concerned government corporations have been diligently doing their jobs, they should still report about their transactions to maintain the public’s confidence to the government, saying that “any delay in procurement causes a delay in public services, where the Filipino people are left to suffer.”
According to the senator, the government does not tolerate delays in the delivery of services, particularly now that the country is battling the coronavirus disease pandemic.
