Jarvey Gayoso is set to bring his act overseas following a stellar professional debut in the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) with the Azkals Development Team (ADT). The 23-year-old Filipino striker will depart for Thailand next week to reinforce a powerhouse Muangthong United in the prestigious Thai League which is currently parading 16 clubs. “It’s not over the line yet, but it’s close and it’s an excellent move for him,” said ADT head coach Scott Cooper in the team’s post Saturday morning.

“I think it’s a great step up for him to go to the Thai League.”

Gayoso has been vocal about his intent to play abroad as an import.

Earlier this year, he announced that he would be foregoing his final playing year in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) with the Ateneo de Manila University to jumpstart his professional journey.

His major decision immediately came into fruition as ADT entered the 2020 PFL where they emerged at the third spot with a 3-2 win-loss card.

Gayoso, the former two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player, was a vital cog in ADT’s remarkable season where he scored a total of four goals.

His successful conversions have placed him beside some of the league’s elite players like Bienvenido Maranon, Mike Ott, Robert Lopez Mendy and OJ Porteria who are the league leaders in goals.

It’s not over the line yet, but it’s close and it’s an excellent move for him.

Cooper earlier revealed that at least three teams from the respectable Thai League have signified intent on getting the services of Gayoso as well as his teammate in Mar Vincent Diano.
