A helping hand

After his splendid Game 3 performance last Friday, TNT forward Troy Rosario vows to play much better as he continues to draw inspiration from his kababayans in flood-ravaged Cagayan.

With his dear province still picking up the pieces following last month’s typhoon, the 6-foot-7 big man said that he is committed to improve in the remainder of the series.

To lend a helping hand, Rosario is being assisted in his fund-raiser on social media by his wife as the former Gilas standout vows to provide assistance to those in need.

“My wife has been helping me to collect donations on social media. I know that if I can achieve my goal here, I can help the people much more,” Rosario said.

“They’ve been very supportive in my career, and this is the best way that I can help them.”

Even in the middle of the finals series between Barangay Ginebra and TNT Tropang Giga, the PBA still found time to stage a halftime game for the team staff and utility inside the AUF Gym.

During the halftime break of Game 3 last Friday, the league conducted an exciting three point shootout, participated by several personnel from the AUF Gym, Ginebra and TNT.

Richard Marcos, a utility from Barangay Ginebra, dropped the most bombs and ultimately won a 32-inch smart television.

Marcos caught fire and blasted five long bombs in just 24 seconds, sparking a celebration from the Ginebra players, who were very supportive of their bet.

After surviving two months of busy schedule in this historic 45th season, the entire PBA staff inside the bubble will be receiving a well-deserved reward from the league.

Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed that the board of governors has already approved a seven-day vacation for all the league staff right after the end of the season.

According to Marcial, it is a fitting reward for the officers and employees who sacrificed a lot just for the successful staging of this extraordinary bubble season.

“The board has already agreed on my request to give seven days of break for the employees who participated in the bubble,” Marcial said.

“That would give enough time for them to have enough rest and spend a lot of time with their families. They really deserve to relax and have a break.”
