May panibagong blessing na namang natanggap ang aktres na si Lovi Poe nang magwagi siya ng Best Actress award para sa indie film na “Latay (The Battered Husband)” sa 10th International Film Festival Manhattan.

Sa kanyang Instagram post, inilarawan ni Lovi ang kanyang kasiyahan sa kanyang pagkakapanalo.

“Love making films especially films with themes that are hard to talk about, with characters that are rarely seen on screen. I have never portrayed the role of a violent wife to a battered husband. To say it was challenging is an understatement,” sabi ni Lovi.

“I am fond of taking on off-beat roles and doing projects like this that raises awareness about domestic violence, particularly towards men, which isn’t documented as much,” dagdag niya.

Ang “Latay (The Battered Husband)” ay tungkol sa isang mister na palaging sinasaktan ng kanyang misis.

“Thank you to our director Ralston Jover for giving me your full trust in playing a very unconventional character,” saad ni Lovi.

Samantala, nangunguna naman ang singer-actress na si Andrea Brillantes sa pinaka-popular na Pinoy celebrities sa TikTok ngayong 2020.

Pumangalawa naman si Sanya Lopez at sumunod ang komendyanteng si Vice Ganda, ayon sa press release ng sikat na video-sharing app.

“This past year, many celebrities have turned to TikTok as a means to connect with their fans on a more personal level,” ayon sa TikTok.

“These celebs share snippets of their day-to-day lives and behind the scenes sneak peeks that their followers wouldn’t typically see outside the platform,” dagdag nito.
