Manila cold storage ready this week
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso assured residents the construction of the city’s refrigerated storage facility for anti-Covid-19 vaccines will be completed this week.
The mayor said Manila is spending around $4 million in the procurement of the vaccine from the British drug maker AstraZeneca, which is expected to be delivered soon.
The facility, located at the seventh floor of Ospital ng Sta. Ana, will serve as storage area for the vaccine.
Meantime, Domagoso and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna reiterated their call for Manileños and non-Manila residents who are working in the city to avail of the free swab test being offered by the Manila Health Department.
During yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony, the mayor announced the free drive-thru swab testing at the Quirino Grandstand has resumed yesterday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but solely by appointment.
Only 100 persons will be accommodated daily following the given schedule.
Domagoso cautioned residents against being too excited about the arrival of the anti-Covid vaccine by being reckless, stressing the continuing need to be careful as the coronavirus continues to claim lives.
