The City of Manila has opened a Covid-19 hotline in line with the creation of the Manila Covid-19 Vaccine Action Center (MCVAC).

Dr. Arnold “Poks” Pangan, Manila City health officer, said the action center will assist callers who want to register for the Covid-19 vaccination drive, as well as handle their questions about the vaccine itself.

The creation of the center is in line with the city’s preparation for the upcoming free vaccination of about a million Manileños, workers and visitors in Manila.

“Our action center will be there to respond to the needs of individuals who will get vaccinated. The MCVAC will guide you from Step 1 until the post-vaccination process,” Pangan said.

“An Emergency Response Team, which consists of a doctor and an ambulance complete with medical emergency kits, will be on standby in case there are any adverse events following immunization. If the need arises, an individual will then be sent to the nearest hospital in Manila,” he added.

Pangan encouraged the public to contact the MCVAC for inquiries about the vaccination program through the following mobile numbers: 0927-351-0849, 0915-703-0621, 0968-572-1975 or 0961-020-2655.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso earlier announced 18 vaccination sites would be deployed in the nation’s capital city.

Vaccination sites will be located in public schools in all of the city’s six districts. The Manila Health Department (MHD) will assign three medical teams per site.

“The city aims to inoculate 1,000 individuals per day, with a daily target of 18,000 citywide or 126,000 in seven days,” Domagoso said in a recent interview.

All those who have been vaccinated will receive a “vaccination passport” from the MHD, while medical personnel from the MCVAC will also evaluate and report about the city’s vaccination program.
