Pasig plans to dispense 5K jabs daily
What is important is that should the vaccines arrive tomorrow, we are ready
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto yesterday said they could vaccinate more than 5,000 people a day in their planned inoculation drive against the coronavirus.
“We can administer more than 5,000 doses per day,” Sotto told reporters at the sidelines of the launch of the city’s first ever Covid-19 vaccination simulation plan.
“Whatever is available, what is the first vaccine supply to be given to us, we will just continue to vaccinate them until we run out of supplies. If we get the chance to reorder, we will order again. That is what we intend to do,” he added.
The city government is all set for the rollout of its Covid-19 vaccination program.
“Hopefully, something gets delivered this February. What is important is that should the vaccines arrive tomorrow, we are ready,” the Pasig mayor said.
The simulation, which was held at Pasig Central Elementary School, was attended by representatives of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, and representatives from World Health Organization, Department of Health-Central and Regional Office and UNICEF.
Through the full simulation exercise, Pasig City aims to determine ways to make the planned vaccination process more efficient.
The city’s 9,460 health care workers, 80,000 senior citizens, 15,585 indigents and 1,911 uniformed personnel will be prioritized to receive the vaccine.
The city government launched last Monday its vaccination command center to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of its Covid-19 vaccination plan.
