NBI looks into Dacera phone files
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday disclosed that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) had subpoenaed the telephone unit of the late flight attendant Christine Dacera for digital examination.
The justice chief said the NBI also requested a certain specimen from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the copies of Ms. Dacera’s medical records to complete the investigation.
“The NBI has subpoenaed Christine Dacera’s phone so that a digital examination of its contents could be made,” Guevarra said.
“The NBI expects to finish this by early next week so that its report could be submitted to and considered by the investigating prosecutor in the resolution of the case,” he added.
Guevarra has earlier said the NBI is not rushing its probe on the Dacera’s death.
“The NBI is not rushing its report because it wants all bases covered,” Guevarra said. “But I’m sure the NBI will be able to submit its report before the prosecutor resolves the case.”
The Makati prosecutor’s office has wrapped up its preliminary investigation and will issue a resolution whether cases would be filed against the 11 respondents.
Decera’s friends John Pascual de la Serna III, Rommel Galido, John Paul Halili, Gregorio Angelo de Guzman, Clark Rapinan, Valentine Rosales, Mark Anthony Rosales, Rey Englis, Louie de Lima, Jammyr Cunanan and Ed Madrid are being considered suspects in her death.
The NBI forensic team conducted a second autopsy on Dacera on the request of her family.
A PNP medico-legal report claimed that she died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
