DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Governor Abet Garcia and Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia personally led the other day the opening of the ‘1Bataan Malasakit Dialysis Assistance Center’ in this town where the poor dialysis patients can avail of treatments for free.

The Garcias’ initiative eases the burden of thousands of indigents of getting quality treatment for their kidney ailments.

Another dialysis center is being mulled to be put up in Mariveles town.

The setting up of the 1Bataan Dialysis Center here came after Mayor Garcia sought the assistance of the governor and the provincial board to help her town put up the facility after noting that several poor indigent patients cannot afford to shell out the money for the said medical expense and had to mainly rely on the Department of Social Welfare and Development and state insurer PhilHealth.

“The dialysis center will help them prolong their lives and improve their quality of life through the help and assistance of the provincial government,” the local chief executive stated.

For his part, Chalor Howell Icban, Special Assistance Program Coordinator of Bataan, explained that the facility will provide accessible medications for patients who used to go to Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in Pampanga.

“Medicines needed for their treatment will now be available in the dialysis assistance center thus reducing the Covid-19 exposure of patients. It will also cater to hospital bills incurred by dialysis patients at Dinalupihan District Hospital,” noted Icban.

The dialysis center will help them prolong their lives and improve their quality of life through the help and assistance of the provincial government.
