Double celebration 2021
Of course, the most important way to celebrate is to welcome new beginnings with people you love!
Gong xi fa cai! There’s no other way I’d welcome the Year of the Ox than with friends. I joined two very dear groups last week to ring in the New Year: the first with the CinCin group at the Blackbird in Makati last Thursday; and the second on Friday with Becky Garcia’s Frenzy Group. Our celebration at Blackbird was a night to remember, and I was glad to see a lot of other people at the
restaurant enjoying life as well — and observing safety protocols, of course.
Meanwhile, on the day of the Chinese New Year itself, the Frenzy group held its annual party while celebrating Valentine’s Day, too, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. We love holding our gatherings there since it never fails to give us top experiences and make us feel totally at home.
Did you know that traditionally, the Lunar New Year was celebrated to give farmers and workers a day of rest from working all year? The same essence is carried onto our modern times because we’re given time to rest, recharge our power and prepare to gain good fortune for the new year ahead.
Of course, the most important way to celebrate is to welcome new beginnings with people you love! As we gathered last Friday, we made sure to set the tone for the year ahead by kicking it off with lots of love, laughter and wishes of good fortune, along with some tokens of good luck, too.
Here’s hoping to extend the good luck to you, dear reader! Cheers to a more prosperous Year of the Ox.
