32 Pasay barangays under lockdown
The Pasay City local government has placed under a 14-day lockdown a total of 32 barangays and a business establishment after three or more cases were reported in each locality.
Neighborhoods placed under lockdown are Barangays 28, 29, 32, 40, 57, 58, 66, 68, 71, 76, 81, 95, 98, 100, 107, 109, 118, 122, 132, 135, 136, 143, 155, 159, 162, 175, 177, 178, 183, 190, 192 and 201.
The identity of the business establishment was not revealed.
The lockdown took effect last Friday, 19
February, and follows guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
The move is part of the city’s “control and containment” strategy to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
City Administrator Dennis Acorda said the Philippine National Police and barangay officials will be augmented by members of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, the Tricycle-Pedicab Franchising and Regulatory Office and the Traffic and Parking Management Office to enforce IATF protocols.
They have been deputized to issue citations to those violating the health and safety rules.
Likewise, inspection teams of the Business Permits and Licensing Office will be checking on establishments to monitor compliance with IATF protocols.
Public markets will also be deputized to inspect stalls and enforce health protocols.
As of Saturday, 20 February, Pasay City recorded 269 cases. The City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit said the city had a daily average of 15 new cases from October 2020 to February 2021 and 14 new cases per day from January 2021 to February 2021.
