President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday ordered all agencies to immediately and holistically respond to the needs of communities affected by typhoon Auring following his visit in Surigao del Sur.
Duterte was accompanied by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go in conducting an aerial inspection on affected areas in Surigao del Sur.
A situational briefing was held in Tandag City which was attended by concerned national and local officials.
During the briefing, Duterte emphasized that he does not want local government officials to go to Metro Manila to personally do the follow-up.
The Department of Transportation committed to install runway lights after the construction and improvements of Tandag Airport while the Department of Public Works and Highways will coordinate with Surigao del Sur LGU regarding the needed equipment for the construction of barangay roads.
