Leni paradox

-

When the NASA probe Perseverance recently landed on Mars, it found a dense landscape no different from the hollowness of the views of the yellow mob led by Vice President Leni Robredo who keeps on insisting that democracy is threatened and that efforts to rewrite history continue.

The NASA missions proved that intelligent life is indeed rare in the universe as evidenced by Robredo and company.

To mark the 35th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolt, which is a term that distorts reality since it was in fact a successful coup launched by then Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Vice Chief of Staff Fidel Ramos, Robredo called for unity against the “constant threat” to democracy.

Vice President Robredo appears to have arrived from a far nebula for not realizing that what she encourages has long been achieved in the more than 91 percent of Filipinos surveyed who are united behind the President particularly in the actions he took in response to the pandemic.

She also cautioned against “efforts to revise history for the personal agenda of a powerful few” in which she must be talking about the efforts to resurrect the decomposed Liberal Party machinery by demonizing the popular Mr. Duterte.

“The challenge now is this: We must find within ourselves that strength, that faith, that fire to continue the work that remains to be done. And in doing so, we must find a way to walk forward together,” Robredo mused to her yellow mob backers.

Rewriting history is the domain of Robredo, former President Noynoy Aquino and their followers.

Former President Ferdinand Marcos was overthrown in 1986 and Cory Aquino, the widow of assassinated Senator Ninoy Aquino, took his place.

The miracle theory has been propagated since it benefits both the yellow mob and the Catholic Church which conspired with the military mutineers against Marcos.

It was the Aquinos who worked fervently to buttress the false recounting of the “miracle.”

Noynoy encouraged the youth to learn from the event, the recounting of which based on the yellow perspective is even peddled in textbooks written mostly by Aquino allies.

He claimed the divine Spirit of EDSA was what guided the People Power revolt and later inspired him to become president long after his mother, Cory.

Such a spirit should be malevolent because of the several miscues under his presidency where there came a strong demand for Noynoy’s accountability for such issues as the Disbursement Acceleration Program fiasco and the Mamasapano carnage of 2015.

The battle now is for the mind of the youth, only a few of whom are aware of what really transpired in those four turbulent days of 1986 which the yellow mob had claimed as their Martin Luther King Day.

There was a rerun of the so-called People Power event in 2001 called Edsa 2 but which the nation had stopped commemorating.

The second event was a pure show of hypocrisy of the same yellow mob and Catholic bishops in ousting a popular leader.

Noynoy indeed used the Spirit of Edsa whenever he could during his forgettable stint.

In the aftermath of the Mamasapano massacre, it was the death of his father, Ninoy Aquino, that he constantly brought up amid demands for his accountability on the incident.

The overthrow of then President Ferdinand Marcos was supposedly sparked by an event that happened three years earlier on 21 August 1983 when his father was assassinated on the airport tarmac upon Ninoy’s return to the country from his United States exile.

In the four years that he was President, Noynoy failed to make a mark and had to constantly make references to his parents as if seeking consolation from them.

The only miracle that emanated from the Spirit of EDSA was the two Presidents from the Aquino family and the sudden wealth that their relatives and cronies amassed during their forgetful terms.

Robredo said the Filipino people are still in the “process of forging the nation we dreamt of, and fought for, on EDSA.”

For once, she nailed it, since Filipinos had remained shackled by the twisted lies of the hypocritical horde.

“Rewriting history is the domain of Robredo, former President Noynoy Aquino and their followers.

“EDSA People Power Revolt is a term that distorts reality since it was in fact a successful coup launched by then Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Vice Chief of Staff Fidel Ramos.
