- BY ALDWIN QUITASOL

BAGUIO CITY — With the issue of the supposed “mis-encounter” between personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) near a mall at Quezon City still hot, the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-Cor) and PDEA’s regional command recommitted their operational and tactical support to each other in the fight crime in the region.

Gil de Castro said the recommitment of their cooperation done yesterday at the PRO-Cor headquarters at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet is their assurance to the public that they are not losing sight of improving the drug situation for a better and safer Cordillera.

“PDEA and the PNP can develop their own concept plans as initial stage of the anti-drug operation, as early as this stage, the operation is fully documented and coordinated,” their joint statement read.

The statement also underscored that in the negation phase requiring tactics, PDEA Cordillera and PRO-Cor will be banding together to breach the stronghold of the drug targets. “So that it would almost be impossible to have operational and tactical clashes among our troops,” said de Castro. The two regional law enforcement groups also vowed to keep their communication lines open as they likewise committed to “sit together, fight together, and win together” in the government’s war on narcotics.
