New episodes of romantic comedy series B&B: The Story of The Battle Between Brody & Brandy will air on WeTV and iflix every Saturday at 7 p.m.
The show, created by Mark V. Reyes V, features Iza Calzado as Brandy, an idealistic innkeeper who crosses paths with Ian Veneracion as Brody, a handsome businessman who checks in as a guest in her bed and breakfast (B&B) place.
While hearts start to flutter, sparks fly when they find themselves on opposing sides when it comes to business.
What makes the show different from the traditional rom-com is that both characters are in their late 30s to early 40s, so their ideas about love and romance are coupled with a strong sense of independence and maybe just the tiniest bit of cynicism.
Iza describes her role as a refreshing change from the heavy dramatic roles she’s been doing. She says it has long been her dream to play a character in a story that is light and just about the happy feels.
Ian provides the counterpoint in the story, as he tackles Brody with roguish charm.
Joining them in the cast are Lovely Abella, Ketchup Eusebio, Ian Ignacio and Emmanuelle Vera.
The series also marks another first, as Sunshine Dizon goes behind the cameras in her first co-directorial stint.
