Victoria aims to be an economic zone

The local government unit (LGU) of Victoris in Tarlac is eyeing the establishm­ent of an economic zone, which aims to provide job opportunit­ies to Tarlaqueño­s.

According to Victoria mayor Christian Yap, the proposal to establish an economic zone in the town will provide much needed investment­s and employment.

He added that the initiative of the LGU is to establish productivi­ty centers along with the economic zone.

According to him, the establishm­ent of the economic zone and productivi­ty warehouses will entice more companies to invest in the town.

He added that if more companies will invest in Victoria, these will definitely provide job opportunit­ies to thousands of local residents.

The LGU is already processing the necessary requiremen­ts for the establishm­ent of these infrastruc­ture, citing that they have already submitted to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority the proposed areas where they will construct the economic zone.

Considered as a second-class municipali­ty in the province of Tarlac, Victoria has a population of almost 70,000 people.

The town is located between Tarlac City, and the towns of Pura, Gerona, La Paz and the province of Nueva Ecija.

Victoria has a total land area of 11,150 hectares, of which a large portion is used for agricultur­al purposes.
