10 songwriters win Viva music tilt
The winners each received P100,000 in advance royalties and were signed to exclusive contracts with Viva Music Publishing. Their songs will also get a chance to be used in a Viva production
Ten songwriters from around the Philippines and overseas were proclaimed winners of Viva Musika 2020. The Viva Music Group announced the results of the talent search aimed to discover promising unsigned composers.
The aspirants included a flight attendant, two lawyers, a seaman, an accountant and singer-songwriters.
They each received P100,000 in advance royalties and were signed to exclusive contracts with Viva Music Publishing.
The songs of the winners will also get a chance to be used in a Viva production.
Viva Communications chair and CEO Vic del Rosario Jr. was pleased with the first batch of Viva
Musika signees.
“This search is a continuation of Viva’s long-running efforts to look for hidden talents and to nurture their music careers to the fullest potential,” he said.

The aspirants were asked to submit three compositions. The winners are: Pat Cardoza from Tondo, “Mahal, Kailan Ka Babalik” and “Back to You”; Vee Jay Cariego from Cebu, “Miss, Miss Maayag,” “Key of G” and “Kalit”; Clyde Fedelis from Quezon Province,
“Isang Banayad na Pag-Indak,” “Kahit Hindi Magkaintindihan” and “Mission Forever”; Dianne Lim from Quezon City, “Umaasa,” “Kahit Wala ng Pagtingin” and “Dito Na Lang Tayo”; Fritz Baguio from Cebu, “Sabik,” “Dinaba” and “Thanks for Loving Me.”
Joel Abad from Valenzuela City, “Kahit Wala Ka Na,” “Kilig” and “Torpe”; Paul Gomez Hildawa of Parañaque, “Malapit Na Akong Mahulog Sa Yo,” “Sakit” and “When God Seems Silent”; Oliver Narag, “Aaminin Ko Na,” “Di Na Ba Magbabalik” and “Madapaka”; Lino Cajegas from Davao but residing in Australia, “Magnet,” “Huling Pagkikita” and “Lost Love”; and Divino Rivera from Benguet, “Langit,” “Us” and “Dito.”
