Bataan governor and concurrent chair of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Luzon Abet Garcia has appealed to the public on Wednesday to cast away their fears while the ultimate goal of the government is to end the pandemic through its inoculation drive.

With this, the governor assured the public that there is nothing to fear since the aim of the government is to revive the economy once the coronavirus threat is eradicated.

As this developed, Garcia said the Bataan provincial government is now conducting an online survey for the government to know the sentiment and ideas of Bataeños regarding the imminent massive inoculation.

According to him, the public can access the online survey access thru: https://forms.gle/E5wBgTuxrepS2aAK6.

He said the public’s reactions, questions and subsequent answers will serve as the government’s guidance to better serve the people and to clear doubts on vaccine issues.

In a related development, private sector representatives (PSR) of the Central Luzon RDC had adopted a resolution supporting the move of the national government to gradually allow the reopening of the economy, while mindful of public health and safety.

The RDC said such action will help address the growing rate of hunger, poverty, joblessness and income loss that that were triggered by the pandemic.

Sector representative Renato Romero said there is a need to relax community measures in the country to allow businesses to resume operations while adhering to minimum health protocols and allow the labor market to make a strong rebound.

In his statement to media, RDC vice chair and National Economic and Development Authority OIC-regional director Agustin Mendoza also lauded the initiative of the PSR as it is consistent with the thrust of the National Action Plan Against Covid-19 Phase 3 (NAP 3) of the government.

“NAP 3 is centered on creating an equilibrium both on health safety and economic recovery. The government is currently strengthening its Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate strategy in order to breathe life into and gradually open the economy,” he added.
