Migo Adecer quits showbiz, now Australia bound
Migo said, ‘Alright peeps, this is it. Time for me to head out with a bang! There were a lot of good and bad memories made during my stay here, but they all made me who I am today’
Fellow actors and fans were caught surprised by Kapuso actor Migo Adecer’s recent Instagram post bidding goodbye to Philippine showbiz to permanently stay with his family in Australia.
In a separate report, the actor seemed to reveal that he had a change of heart that’s why he left the country. Migo was quoted messaging this to a co-worker: “Decided to hang up the coat. Just wasn’t feeling it anymore! And I wanted to be closer to my family.”
On his Instagram post on 9 April, the Filipino-Australian Migo was shown diving into a pool, which appeared to be a symbolic gesture of his resolve to pursue a new life back in Australia. He explained that though he arrived at such a decision, he still feels thankful for all the memories and support he was given all these years.
He said, “Alright peeps, this is it. Time for me to head out with a bang! There were a lot of good and bad memories made during my stay here, but they all made me who I am today.”
Migo acknowledged the “epic opportunity” that allowed him to work for GMA and GMA Artist Center. He also addressed his fans called Migonatics.
“To Migonatics, thank you for the love and support. For one last time, keep up the hype! See you on the flip side (get it?)!” he said.
After his Starstruck stint in 2015, Adecer starred in the Kapuso shows Encantadia (2016), My Love from the Star (2017), The One That Got Away (2018), Ika-5 Utos (2018) and Sahaya (2019). He was paired with Barbie Forteza in Anak Ni Waray Vs. Anak Ni Biday (2020).
Aside from his regular guestings in the weekly variety shows Studio 7 and All-Out Sundays, Adecer was also featured in the second installment of My Fantastic Pag-ibig and Heartful Cafe with Kate Valdez last February.
In 2019, he was involved in a drunk driving incident in Poblacion, Makati City. He was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property and disobedience to a person in authority by the Makati police.
