Three drug suspects were killed while more than P81 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations in Parañaque and Pasay City shortly before dawn yesterday.

P/Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, commended the operatives involved in the neutralization of two drug personalities and the confiscation of about P47.6 million worth of suspected drugs in Merville, along C5 Extension in Barangay 201, Pasay City at around 3:10 a.m. on 11 April 2021.

Based on intelligence and surveillance, the subjects were ascertained to be well-known distributors of illegal drugs within Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Their main sources of illegal drug supplies were Chinese nationals and other Filipino and Muslim contacts.

During the operation, the suspects sensed they were dealing with cops. They drew their firearms, prompting the officers to retaliate and protect their lives.

The suspects were identified only as alias Domeng and alias Rey. Operatives recovered from their possession seven packs of Chinese tea that contained about seven kilos of shabu, estimated to be worth P47.6 million.

Also taken were a Toyota Adventure, the boodle money and two short firearms of unknown caliber with magazines.

Meanwhile, joint elements of the PNP and Parañaque police conducted a buy-bust operation along West Service Road in Barangay Sun Valley at around 11:25 p.m. on 10 April 2021, which resulted in the confiscation of about P34 million worth of suspected drugs.

The subject in the operation, known as alias Richard, drew his gun and traded shots with the operatives after he sensed he was dealing with cops. An armed confrontation ensued that resulted in his death.

Recovered from his possession were five packs of Chinese tea containing about five kilos of shabu, valued at P34 million, the marked money, a short firearm with magazine and a Mirage hatchback.

Meanwhile, Danao said the deaths during the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations were deeply discouraged and are extremely unnecessary unless compelled by the situation.

Danao said, “We plead cooperation from our citizens, especially those engaged in illegal activities, to once and for all cease from your illegal operations because NCRPO will not hesitate to enforce the law and protect our people at all cost.”
