Manila hiring more health workers
We want to further strengthen our hospitals, so as not to exhaust our health workers and to provide the doctors with reasonable shifts. Many of them are already very tired, but we can’t stop serving the people
The City of Manila is now hiring more medical and health care professionals, following the rise in the number of Covid-19 infections and fatalities in the city.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso bared he had already hired 30 doctors, nurses and medical technologists who are badly needed at this time.
In a Facebook announcement, he stressed that those who are interested should make sure they have the heart to work in government to serve poor people.
The mayor said he had already signed the appointment papers of the newly-hired medical personnel, who are expected to reinforce the current number of medical frontliners serving the city and lessen the load of those presently deployed in city-run hospitals.
“If you want to serve the people, we are hiring. We will not stop hiring to reinforce our medical institutions. We want to further strengthen our hospitals, so as not to exhaust our health workers and to provide the doctors with reasonable shifts. Many of them are already very tired, but we can’t stop serving the people,” Domagoso said.
While the city government welcomes applicants, he calls on applicants to make sure they are willing to practice maximum understanding and tolerance toward the patients.
“Hopefully, before you enter public service, I would like to tell you in advance, it is difficult to serve the people because they expect you to understand them. We cannot frown, shout or be annoyed because we are tired, since the people are more tired emotionally, psychologically and physically. Above all, economically,” Domagoso added.
He stressed that in government service, the benefits are good, plus the fact that one is given the rare opportunity of being able to serve the people.
“We must be able to understand them and not lose our patience, because the people deserve proper service from the government,” he added.
