The word may have originated from the French word “pique — nique,” which describes a social gathering wherein each attendee brings a share of food. But “Picnic” in the Vespa way is not just an activity, it is a state of mind — the openness to possibilities of enjoyment. For it, life is a journey of freedom, the desire for that little getaways, the curiosity that takes one to new places or the smile in one’s heart that lets one look at life through a light-hearted lens. This is often referred to as “joie de vivre” in the smallest action, simply because “life is a picnic.”
Besides standing out for the special features in terms of design that set the mood of a modern “rustic-chic” picnic in every detail, this limited edition also fulfills the need of a fresh breeze to fuel the young soul of people.
The model comes in three colors, the elegant White Innocenza, the fresh Green Relax and the gentle Grey Materia, which let the details of the special version stand out.
At the onset, this two-wheel stunner exudes the vibe of a relaxing picnic day. The signature belt in beige adds a touch of rustic chic elegance to the livery of the scooter. The front and rear racks respectively have one brown strap that not only embellish the look of the vehicle but are also functional items to tighten to the items to be carried in a journey out of town.
The unique saddle is designed for different brown shades tailored to provide sophisticated look and comfort. The small Italian flag positioned on the saddle strap is a further reminder of the origin of the bike, whose body, as per Vespa’s signature, is completely made of steel.
It is also equipped with 12-inch wheel rims, made of aluminum alloy that sports a five-spoke design, especially conceived in white by Piaggio Group’s Italian design center. Capping off the exterior look is its “Vespa Picnic” signature plate on the front compartment, complemented by nifty accessories that complete this special collection.

Breathing life into it are modern one-cylinder four-stroke 125 and 150 cc iGet engines, air-cooled and equipped with electronic injection and three-valve distribution. Each detail from the exhaust to the inner structure of the transmission casing was designed to provide a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. The control unit contains a barometric sensor, which always ensures optimum combustion under all conditions and at all altitudes.
As bells and whistles unique to the Picnic, it features accessories and merchandises, such as: A picnic blanket with an embossed Vespa Picnic logo, special rattan basket, white cooling bag (inside the basket) where food and drinks can be stored.
